Farm biosecurity is designed to protect a farming property from the entry and spread of pests and diseases.
It is everyone’s responsibility to control the spread between farms, regions and countries. Control measures include using the right pest and disease management practices. This includes being careful not to spread pests or diseases on your clothing or footwear and being considerate of the environment of surrounding farms including flora, fauna, water supply and more.
As a farmworker consider – hygiene, footwear, tools and vehicles. Especially if you are driving between farms and regions. Your employer will tell you if they have specific needs when you start work with them.
